Is your old IFSC code still working?

A number of Indian banks have been amalgamated since 2015, and the IFSC codes of the banks that disappeared stopped working. We have kept every published release of the branch list since 2016 — 135 of them — so we can tell you exactly when a code was last valid, rather than guessing.

46,719 retired codes are on record here. For 15,319 of them we can name the replacement code and show you the evidence for it. For the rest we say plainly that we do not know — we never invent a replacement.

What changed in the past year

Between release v2.0.47.1 (2025-08-05) and the current v2.0.62, 11,748 IFSC codes were added to the RBI list and 4,505 left it. Every bank, state and city list shows its own share. Release history and how we keep the list current.
